My confidence that the publishing industry in its present state would have no interest in such a book is total.

But I thank you for saying that because I've been thinking about it for quite a number of years.

Dave:

Very moving. The pictures you paint with your words. Perhaps at some point this is another book project - putting all the letters together. They are a must read for any parent.

Thanks for the support. Adam was an ideal guest, revealing a little more of himself every five or ten minutes, implying stories eve nwilder than the ones he told.
I want to bring him back with the full band, have them do a Kick Out the Jams concert. We've done them in the past with Alejandro Escoved, Bottle Rockets, Krayolas, Lila Downs, a whole bunch of cool people.
Let us know your point of view, even if it's not always this kind.

Dave, I am a recent convert to your show, being an avid Spectrum listener and satellite subscriber for the last couple years. You bring a nice perspective, it's really what I was hoping to find on satellite. Glad you switched so that I could hear it sooner. I really enjoyed the guest today, Adam from Low Cut Connie, and loved the first one he played, Rio, the other two were pretty great too.

You can send your congratulations to MIke Marrone. I don't know what you're bitching at me for--he succeeded, through a variety of mafeasance, in driving me off the channel. So even when you wrote this, you weren't having to listen to the program on that channel anymore. Not you ever had to, in the first place unless you have some kind of cultish inability to change the channel or shut the machine off.

Kick out the Jams has been the same from the beginning and its emotional current is exactly the opposite of what you descdribe. It alway starts off low, moves through annoyance and anger and winds up positive and life-affirming. If you didn't get that, I don't know a better example of ships passing in the night.

No reason I c an think of that it can't be done flock by flock, as long as you a) are certain that there are articualte birds within the flock (I take that on faith), b) don't worry at all about obviously hostile flocks, c) frame the message in ways that are exciting enough that bird-to-bird connection results.
DOn't think like a bird watcher. Think like a bird revolutionary!

Thank you Shawn. I'll always have hope. I endeavor to educate people about the truth whenever I can or at least try to make them think about things from an alternatate perspective. Some people are completely deaf. Then there's the internet dragging us down with so many fabrications. I get the group e-mails from family and friends and I respond to them and explain (as gently as I can and after I've done my research) that it's a hoax, they're sending. They've been had. Same thing on facebook. People will believe that Captain Kangaroo was a war hero, yet they will also believe that Ron Paul was clueless about his own publications. There was a book I read perhaps 10 years ago. It was backyard bird watching/ feeding. The author wrote that he had never realized how many little brown birds there were that were actually different. He called them LBJ's (little brown jobs). He wondered how he was going to learn to identify them all. The answer was simple. Bird by bird. That's my most basic philosophy for most things. I'm only one person, how can I make an impact? Bird by bird.

I have to say I used to enjoy the show on the Loft, but then it devolved, somehow. It seemed to move form interesting and informative to an angry rant. The last thing I want on a Sunday morning is an angry and, arguably, arrogant man complaining in my living room.

Rob, those newsletter articles covered quite a span of time. You can't just blow them off with a shrug. Paul's not going to cop to it now because his ego won't let him. His ego isn't so big that he wont play dumb though. He doesn't vote on most of the bills in Congress anyway, they have to pertain directly to the constitution or something like that. He likes to propose bills about gold though. Maybe it's me but I don't think the gold standard is a really pressing issue right now. And David Duke? He's so pathetic he goes to Germany to deny the holocaust so he can get arrested. Then he begs for money from his supporters so he can fight deportation and "the cause". Let me go way way out to the tip of a limb here and say this, not too many folks in this country support bombing CHILDREN. It's a real shame that I couldn't use the word "nobody" for that statement. You and I both know that it would be incorrect.
